Russell T. Quarterman
Rusty is a native of Avondale Estates, Georgia. Rusty attended Emory University from 1967-1969 and The University of Georgia from 1969-1971 where he received his Bachelors Degree in Political Science in 1971. Rusty went on to attend the University of Georgia School of Law, earning his Juris Doctor degree in 1974. Rusty was admitted to the practice of Law in Georgia in 1974. After graduation, Rusty worked as the Assistant Director of the University of Georgia School of Law Office of Special Projects during 1974-1975. Since that time, Rusty has worked in private practice in Athens in solo practice from 1975-1978, as a Partner at Galis, Timmons & Quarterman from 1979-1982, and as a Partner at Scott, Quarterman & Wells from 1982-1999. In December 1999, Rusty formed and has served as President of Russell T. Quarterman, P.C., which in October of 2008 became Quarterman & Hodson, P.C., where he continues his practice.
Rusty has been admitted to practice law before all Georgia State and Superior Courts, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, and the United States Federal District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the United States Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
Alec R. Hodson
Alec is a native of Athens, Georgia, having graduated from Athens Academy in Oconee County. Alec attended the University of Georgia School of Public Policy and International Affairs and received his Bachelors Degree, with Honors, in 1999. After graduation, Alec worked in banking and as a legislative aid to the Georgia General Assembly House Transportation Committee in Atlanta, Georgia during the 1999 and 2000 legislative sessions. Alec went on to attend the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University, earning his Juris Doctor degree in 2003, with an emphasis on legal writing and client counseling. Alec was admitted to the practice of Law and joined the Firm in 2003 as an Associate. Alec was named a partner in 2008. Alec also serves as an adjunct professor teaching real estate law at Athens Area Technical College. Alec is an approved closing attorney for many local and national lenders and has been conducting residential and commercial real property closings since 2003.
Alec is a member in good standing of the State Bar of Georgia Real Property Law and Corporate Law sections, the Western Circuit Bar Association, the Athens Area Association of Homebuilders, where he was named as the 2009 Professional of the Year, the Athens Area Association of Realtors, and the Athens Area Association of Women Realtors, among many other local civic, charitable and professional groups.
Alec has been admitted to practice law before all Georgia State and Superior Courts, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, and the United States Federal District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. Alec is also certified by the Georgia Supreme Court Office of Dispute Resolution as a civil mediator.
Sarah G. Morang
Sarah G. Morang joined the firm as an Associate Attorney in October, 2009.
Sarah is a local Athenian and graduate of Athens Academy. She earned her B.A., cum laude, from Boston University, where she was a member of the Co-ed and Women's Sailing Teams. Sarah earned her J.D. from the University of Georgia' s School of Law, cum laude, where she received the Attorneys' Title Guaranty Scholarship and the Georgia Bar Association's Real Property Section Award. Sarah is a member of the Georgia Bar Association, the Georgia Bar Association's Real Property Section, and the Western Circuit Bar Association, and she is admitted to practice in the Superior Courts of the State of Georgia. Sarah is also a member of the Athens Area Association of Realtors and the Women's Council of Realtors and the Classic City Rotary Club.
Sarah has been admitted to practice law before all Georgia State and Superior Courts, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, and the United States Federal District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
Outside of the office, Sarah enjoys her time spent working with various charitable organizations, as well as time spent racing sailboats at Lake Lanier.

Andye joins the firm as a Closing Secretary with three decades of experience in real estate in and around Athens. Andye’s professionalism and friendly demeanor make working with her a pleasure.
Larry is one of our experienced Title Examiners. Larry spends his work days in the records of the Clerk of Superior Court in many counties in and around Athens-Clarke and Oconee Counties. Before joining Quarterman & Hodson, P.C., Larry worked with the Clerk of Superior Court and various attorneys around town.
